Review: Murder at Melrose Court: A 1920s Country House Murder
Murder at Melrose Court: A 1920s Country House Murder by Karen Baugh MenuhinMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
A new author with an old voice, voice that reads like the likes of Christie. A really good whodunnit. I really like those closed knit murder mysteries where anyone can be the murderer. Hmmm! That came out a little creepy, but you get what I mean, of course.
It took me till I reached about 85% of the book to have my own proper guess at the murderer, and even then I was like only 80% sure. This a proper whodunit where the person doing the detecting knows just as much as you know, well almost. And the suspicion hangs on every other character every now and then. And once at around 60% mark there was one absolutely laugh out loud funny moment, which was wonderful.
If you like whodunnits, don't miss this charming little book.
