The thing I absolutely love about Roald Dahl is this, even though, on the surface, his work looks like a fairytale for kids, you can be rest assured there will be some dark elements for sure and the story won't go down the 'expected route'. Same is the case with 'The Fantastic Mr. Fox'. I'd have hated if it read like fables, like, in the end they have learnt their mistakes and repented for it and led a life of sharing and caring. Because we all know life doesn't work that way.

Enjoyable even for adults.
